The course site (learn.mixartistry.com)

Last updated: 18 October 2026

The course site is run by Daniel Jason Booth trading as Mix Artistry (ABN 53 169 091 926), Victoria, Australia. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles. Students can download or delete their own data from the Account page. For anything else about your privacy, including a complaint, use our contact form.

This section explains the information the course site collects, why we use it, who processes it, and the choices you have.

What we collect and why

WhatWhy
Your name, email address, and the name you want on your certificateTo give you access, send your sign-in links, and print your certificate
Your SureCart customer numberTo match your purchase to your course access, and to handle refunds and upgrades
Which units you've completed, where each video was paused, and which units, tools and files you openSo you can pick up where you left off, see your progress, and get your certificate when you finish. We also use the totals (not your individual record) to see which lessons work and where students get stuck
Sign-in times, and the kind of device ("Chrome on Windows")To keep your account secure, limit it to two devices at once, and spot shared accounts
A record of changes to your account (for example "access extended", "certificate issued")So we can answer questions about your account and fix mistakes
Mix files, notes and links you send for critique, and the reports we send backTo review your mix and keep your critique history
A list of the emails we've sent you and whether each arrivedTo check that sign-in and course emails reach you

We do not store your card or Klarna payment details. SureCart and Stripe handle payments and keep those details themselves.

There are no passwords. You sign in with a link or a 6-digit code sent to your email. We don't store your IP address. To stop people flooding the sign-in page, we keep a one-way coded version of it (it can't be turned back into the address) for at most a day. There are no tracking pixels and no advertising or analytics cookies. The site uses one cookie, the one that keeps you signed in.

Who processes it for us

ProviderWhat they doWhere
CloudflareRuns the site and stores its database and uploaded mix filesCloudflare's global network; the database is kept in the Oceania region
BunnyHosts the course videos (it sees which video is played, not who you are)Stored in Europe, delivered from Bunny's worldwide network
GoogleHolds the course files you download, and stores encrypted backupsUnited States and other Google locations
ResendSends the course emails (it receives your email address and the message)United States
SureCart, Stripe and KlarnaHandle paymentsUnited States and other locations, under their own privacy policies
GitHubRuns the nightly backup jobUnited States

Course files are fetched from Google by our own server, so Google doesn't learn who downloaded what. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server, and only we hold the key. Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia. We use providers that commit to protecting it under their published terms.

How long we keep it

WhatHow long
Sign-in links and codes30 days after they're used or expire
Signed-out sessions30 days
Payment notices from SureCartThe details are cleared after 90 days
The list of emails sent to you90 days
Course activity (views, plays, downloads)13 months. After that only daily totals remain, such as "how many students opened unit 07.08 on 3 November". Those can't be traced back to a person
The record of changes to your account2 years
Uploaded mix filesDeleted 90 days after the critique is sent
BackupsEach one is deleted within 12 months

Your name, email, progress and certificate are kept while you have an account, so your course and certificate keep working.

Your choices

  • See it: go to Account, then Download my data, for a file of everything listed above.
  • Correct it: change your name and certificate name on the Account page. To change your email address, use the contact form.
  • Delete it: go to Account, then Request deletion. When we action it, we:
    • replace your name and email with an anonymous label;
    • sign you out everywhere;
    • delete your sign-in codes, video positions, and mix files and notes;
    • withdraw any certificate (its check page will then say "withdrawn").
  • What deletion keeps:
    • The record of what was bought and when stays, without your name or email, so our accounts still add up.
    • SureCart, Stripe and Resend keep their own records under their own policies. Ask them directly to delete those.
    • Copies inside our encrypted backups are gone within 12 months, as the backups age out.

Emails

The course site only sends emails you need in order to use the course:

  • sign-in links;
  • your welcome email;
  • your certificate;
  • changes to your access;
  • notices about the course service itself, such as new or changed lessons, or planned downtime.

Marketing email is separate, and you only get it if you opted in.

If something goes wrong

If we learn of a breach, we will investigate, secure the service, and notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the law requires it.

Changes to this section

When this section changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you first.

This tool is part of Level Up Pro

The Student Toolkit comes with the Pro tier. You’re on Self-Paced, which gives you the full course and every multitrack, so what you’re looking at here is a preview of what sits next door.

Here’s what Pro adds:

Upgrading costs the difference between the two tiers, A$2,000. Your course progress stays exactly where it is, and there’s no application to fill out.
